💥 Israel’s October Surprise: War in the Middle East
A regional war in the Middle East isn’t just looming—it’s already here, courtesy of Netanyahu and his relentless agenda. The United States has happily funded Israel’s brutal assaults on the Palestinian people and is now sitting back as Israel escalates its terror against neighboring states. Because, really, why not stir up even more chaos?
The genocide of the Palestinian people is well-documented, and I’ve done my part to highlight these horrors for anyone still living under a rock. As we approach the one-year mark of this latest wave of violence, Israel is ramping up its war crimes, this time in Lebanon. They’re targeting communication devices and killing innocents, including children, while bombing Beirut into submission. And let’s not forget the recent airstrikes on Yemen and the ongoing ground invasion in Lebanon. It’s like a twisted game of whack-a-mole, but with far more devastating consequences. Guess who’s still generously funding this mayhem? That’s right, the U.S., just adding another another $8.7 million to Israel’s war chest like it’s pocket change.
But wait, there’s more. Israel has set its sights on Iran, vowing to retaliate for Iran’s missile response to Israel’s killings of Hamas, Hezbollah leaders and launching strikes in Syria. The narrative? To thwart nuclear proliferation. But let’s be honest—it’s more about flexing military muscle in a region already rife with tension and insecurity. Israel’s aggression is only escalating the already fraught dynamics in the Middle East, pushing us closer to an all-out regional conflict.
Israel’s defense forces are operating with the audacity of a bully in a schoolyard, believing they can strike first and ask questions later. Meanwhile, the U.S. clings to the mantra that “Israel has the right to defend itself,” as if that somehow justifies the atrocities unfolding before our eyes. The hypocrisy is staggering. The U.S. military is gearing up, deploying more soldiers to the region in preparation for any retaliation from groups like Hezbollah. Israel is currently attacking five nations simultaneously, and yet we’re supposed to swallow this as “defensive action.” This isn’t about defense; it’s about domination.
Let’s be real: Israel doesn’t want peace; it wants pacification!
This situation is dire, and the U.S.'s unwavering support for Israel’s aggressive tactics only fuels the cycle of violence. It’s time to wake up and recognize the gravity of these events. We need to demand accountability from all parties involved—including the U.S. politicians who stand idly by, complicit in this ongoing tragedy. The world deserves more than just empty rhetoric; it needs real action and genuine accountability. We can no longer afford to turn a blind eye while communities are torn apart and lives are destroyed. I’m getting pretty tired of crying out for peace into the void.
🎤 Why Did the Internet Turn on Chappell Roan?
Chappell Roan's meteoric rise to fame is marred by online backlash over her political views. While fans are signing “H-O-T-T-O-G-O,” her TikTok rants about privacy and the election stirred up a storm of tweets and hot takes.
Unlike a celebrity like Beyoncé, who keeps it tight, Chappell, a young, outspoken leftist, vented on social media, only to be reminded she's no longer just a regular person. Her comments about questioning authority and disapproving of policies from both parties were twisted, prompting her to clarify that she was indeed not voting for Trump. Yet, the internet insisted on misinterpreting her stance.
Her reluctance to fully endorse Kamala Harris—especially as a supporter of the Palestinian cause—added fuel to the fire. The expectation that marginalized voices must choose the "lesser evil" oversimplifies the mess of political engagement. Harris might be a "new face," but her politics are anything but.
With social media’s quick-trigger reactions, even tough celebs like Chappell have to step back for their mental health—she recently canceled performances to prioritize her peace. It’s a stark reminder that maintaining integrity in the chaos of fame and politics is no easy feat.
🌀 Hurricane Helene: The Urgency of Climate Action
Hurricane Helene has made landfall, submerging Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee and becoming the second deadliest mainland U.S. hurricane in the past 50 years. Meanwhile, FEMA is begging for cash to deal with the aftermath of these disasters, while the U.S. government pours ungodly sums into Israel for its ongoing genocide. Priorities, right?
The climate crisis is no longer a distant threat; it’s here, and it’s personal. Friends and former classmates are missing, their families in anguish with no word from them. The flooding is devastating, turning familiar places in western North Carolina into a nightmare we all dreaded. It’s a harsh reminder that anyone can become a climate refugee or victim overnight.
While some quality reporting is shedding light on this crisis, mainstream media seems all too eager to look away. We can’t keep pretending everything is fine while our communities are literally washed away. Comprehensive policy reforms to address this climate emergency aren’t just needed—they’re essential. The Biden administration must not only maintain progress but push it further. It’s time to redirect resources to protect our planet rather than fueling reckless agendas and war. The earth is screaming for help, and we need to start listening.
📺 Mischief on the Small Screen: RHONY
THIS APPLE IS ROTTEN TO THE CORE: B+
Last year the Real Housewives of New York got a reboot, but their first season left a lot to be desired. Now in their second season, the ladies are starting to feel more like actual housewives—and I have to admit I’m such a Jenna Lyons stan. I’m so glad to see her back on my TV screen!
The season starts with a break of the fourth wall of the girls shooting the opening credits—which I love! But I do question if it is too soon for this group of ladies’ in their careers as housewives to be earned. They’re still getting their bearings in housewives land, so I’m holding my judgment... for now. But it does seem that this could set the stage for some juicy feuds throughout the season.
The premiere delivered all the essentials: our first party of the season, a sprinkle of marital drama, and the classic housewives’ bone-carrying gossip. And let’s not forget Jenna Lyon’s fabulous closet—seriously, I’d pay to see more of that!
As for the rest of the ladies, while I’m excited to see veteran Jessel and newbie Raquel, I’m still on the fence about Sai. Her turnaround from last season feels a bit too quick and contrived for my taste, while Ubah wasn’t present enough for me to have any real opinion just yet. And Erin is still wound up tighter than a clock. But hey, at least it seems like they’re clocking in for work this season! And could Brynn be the rising star we didn’t know we needed? Who knows where this season will take us, but I’m intrigued and ready to enjoy the ride!
👺 Behind the Mask
Watching: Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. TV is officially back, and if you’re a fan of the Real Housewives franchise, you know these women deliver a masterclass in reality TV chaos. The relationships are as fragile as ever, with dynamics shifting every season, keeping it fresh and utterly delightful. Dare I say, they might just be the best in the franchise right now.
Anticipating: Will & Harper on Netflix. It’s out now, but life has thrown a few curveballs, so I haven’t had a chance to dive in yet. However, the trailer has me hooked! This intimate journey follows Will Ferrell and his lifelong friend Harper as they embark on a cross-country road trip to explore their relationship after she comes out to him as a trans woman. It’s heartwarming to see someone like Will Ferrell show genuine compassion for the transgender community. Seriously, everyone should watch this movie!
Listening: The Ballad of the Witches’ Road. DOWN DOWN DOWN THE ROAD, DOWN THE WITCHES’ ROAD! This catchy tune has been stuck in my head ever since I heard it. As a Marvel fan, of course, I’m tuning into the Disney+ series Agatha All Along. Episode two features this gem, and hearing those incredible voices—especially the fabulous Patti LuPone—is just magic. Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez have done it again; they can’t miss!
