Here’s Who’s Going to Win at the 97th Oscars
I’ve shared who I want to win, and now, as we look ahead to Oscars weekend, here’s who I think will take home the award.
Final voting has closed for the 97th Academy Awards, and the awards circuit is coming to a close with the SAG Awards happening this past Sunday. The 97th Oscars is set to air live on ABC and stream live on Hulu on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 7 p.m. EST. The awards ceremony will be held at the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles, with Conan O’Brien as the night’s host.
As an awards obsessive—like many of you might be—I’ve been watching the races closely, using SAG, BAFTA, the Golden Globes, and others as road signs for who the winners of the notorious Academy Award will be. But this season has been unpredictable to say the least. To be honest, I’m still not completely sure who is going to take home the trophy for some of these categories.
While Conclave and Anora are set to battle it out for the coveted Best Picture category and Mikey Madison looks to unseat Demi Moore as the frontrunner for Actress in a Leading Role, other races seem almost set. Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez) has proved that being the best part of a terrible movie will almost certainly rack you up a bunch of wins. And I know that was a tough dig, I LOVE Zoe, but my hate for Emilia Pérez is strong.
But as this volatile season comes to a close, I’m sure there are some curveballs to still come—if Timothée Chalamet’s win for A Complete Unknown at the SAG Awards.
Below are some of my updated predictions—and we’ll check back in after the show to see how close or far off my guesses were!
